About

January 5th, 2009

The staff at Metro United Way have created this blog because we want to foster a vital, caring online community just as we build our real-life community. We want to encourage conversation and interaction, share our work and offer our community more avenues to give, advocate and volunteer to advance the common good.

Metro United Way’s blog is moderated because we want to ensure a certain level of quality on our site and create an environment that allows us to build a relationship with the people who are most important to us- YOU! We value your thoughts, comments, suggestions and questions and encourage you to post them. When you do share your thoughts, just try to stick to the subject at hand. ;)

Naturally, profanity, racial and ethnic slurs, and rude behavior like disparaging personal remarks won’t be tolerated in posts or comments and will be removed.

Even though Metro United Way’s blog is moderated, we will strive to keep our posts interesting, diverse and multi-sided. Our team of bloggers wants to engage in a conversation with you, but please note that not every comment will receive a response from us. However, we encourage you to respond to our bloggers and to the comments of others. We also ask that you be patient with our team regarding responses as we are all working at other responsibilities to advance the common good.

If you have arrived here seeking assistance, please call Metro United Way’s 2-1-1 line. Dial 2-1-1 from any phone to get free, confidential health and human service information. Help is available to you 24/7 in over 100 languages.

Metro United Way’s blog is not a forum to address complaints or service issues. We cannot resolve individual concerns through this blog. Metro United Way is eager to resolve your concerns, however. Our front desk can help to direct your call: that number is 502.583.2821.
