I couldn’t agree more, as we continue to change as a society our norms should change and reflect the ability to share our feelings openly. The concept of mental wellness is definitely taboo to many, but is equally important as physical wellness. The two seem to be hand in hand. As a teenager fear of perception and status play a key role in their ability to communicate those issues. The trust in parents and family members between the child is key to unlocking the gated norm of being singled out if one suffers.

please consider starting a facebook (or other social media) group for this organization so that when we read a book and the meeting gets snowed out...that we can still share out insights that we gleaned from the book. It's free, easy, and no maintenance--and wanted !

Lovely memories, Angie, and I share not only Russ' sensual memory but a fondness for the Crescent Hill Library. Our neighborhood Libraries are wonderful - Portland, Beechmont, Shawnee... The only thing better is that when you get a baby book for your infant these days, they can happily chew on them too! I love watching my son try to read to his baby even while she is "eating a good book."

I would love to join, or at least have a copy of the book list. February 15 is a holiday, so I won't be able to make it, but please keep me posted on future events. I signed up for the emails.

Kerri,

Thanks for letting everyone know about this program. It's a great way to get neighbors meeting neighbors and getting kids back to playing physical games to keep them more active. Sometimes we just need to learn to get "back to the basics".
